The current status of the 2026 Action Plan of the "Technology and Innovations" working group was discussed

On June 3, the next meeting of the "Technology and Innovations" Working Group of the Commission on Business Environment and International Rankings, led by the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport, was held. The meeting was attended by the leadership of the Commission Secretariat, the head and members of the Working Group, as well as representatives of the private sector.

During the meeting, the execution status of the "Technology and Innovations" working group's 2026 Action Plan, problems encountered during the implementation of measures, and respective solutions were discussed.

Delivering an opening speech, the Head of the Working Group and Deputy Minister of Digital Development and Transport, Samir Mammadov, noted the importance of conducting thematic meetings with the members of the working group on a monthly basis and holding discussions with other relevant working groups structured within the Commission on Business Environment and International Rankings to ensure the complete and timely execution of the Action Plan, as well as to further improve the country's position in upcoming editions of the "Global Innovation Index."

Vusal Shikhaliyev, Head of the Commission Secretariat, brought to the attention of the meeting participants that the data collection process by the World Intellectual Property Organization for the evaluation of the next edition of the "Global Innovation Index" is in its final stage. He noted that the "Technology and Innovations" working group is responsible for ensuring the execution of a significant portion of the indicators included in the "Global Innovation Index," and the working group's activities play a leading role in this direction.

Based on the opinions voiced during the meeting, relevant proposals and decisions were adopted by the Working Group.
