Presentations on “Economic Reforms on Simplification of Trading Across Borders”

In January and February of 2019 the Working Group on “Trading across Borders” conducted events for informing entrepreneurs about new opportunities, “Green Corridor” gating system and short import declaration. The events were organized within the framework of activities for implementation of the Decree of the President of Azerbaijan Republic on approval of “Regulations of acquisition of the right for permanent use of the Green Corridor gating system by the foreign trade participants, the termination, cancellation and restoration of that right” dated December 21, 2018. During the events, the staff members of the State Customs Committee delivered the presentations named “Economic Reforms on Simplification of Trading across Borders” and “Customs Clearance within Green Corridor Gating System” providing information about acquisition of the right for permanent use of the Green Corridor gating system, the termination, cancellation and restoration of that right. Also, educational brochures and CDs were presented to the event participants.

Among other subsequent events should be mentioned the seminar organized in the State Customs Committee for persons involved in foreign trade operations in order to strengthen their potential and increase professional knowledge regarding the reforms in the customs system. As another example should be named the presentation for informing business entities about the rules of completing application form for obtaining the right for permanent use of the Green Corridor gating system. The presentation was attended by State Customs Committee head officers, representatives of the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication, World Bank, American Chamber of Commerce in Azerbaijan and entrepreneurs. At the same time, a number of seminars were conducted with the participation of entrepreneurs and media representatives.  Due to the format of mutual exchange of views, questions of foreign trade participants were answered during the events.
