Seminar on "Business Reforms: Public-Private Dialogue”

The Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication together with National Confederation of Entrepreneurs of Azerbaijan (NCEA) organized the seminar on “Business Reforms: Public-Private Dialogue” on April 8, 2019. The seminar presented information about the works done and new opportunities created for entrepreneurs within the frame of complex business reforms carried out during December 2018 under the guidance of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev for increasing quality and accessibility of state services, providing their efficiency and transparency. During his speech, President of the National Confederation of Entrepreneurs of Azerbaijan (NCEA) Mammad Musayev stated that national development priorities are properly identified and mobilized for strengthening all state potential, intellectual resources, and human capital. Economic development of the country left transition period behind and in the last years entered into a new stage.   

Executive Director of the Center for Economic Reforms and Communication of the Republic of Azerbaijan Vusal Gasimli stated that policy carried out by President Ilham Aliyev in Azerbaijan resulted in improving of business environment, development of infrastructure, state support, macroeconomic and socio-political stability what in its turn serve to the development of entrepreneurship. “The reforms that are being carried out in the spheres of taxes and customs, transparency, accountability, digitalization, expansion of cashless circulation and “Doing Business” reforms reduce costs and procedures of entrepreneurs and making them more competitive. Structure reforms are designed for development of the economy with the leadership of a private sector. For forwarding high liquidity in bank sector (7,1 billion manat or 25% of assets) to the development of real sector, private sector should be more active”.

During the seminar representatives of the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication, Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Taxes, State Committee on Urban Planning and Architecture, State Customs Committee, “Azerishig” OJSC and the State Agency for Antimonopoly Policy and Supervision of the Consumer Market delivered presentation for the participants. Economic reforms on Online Single Export Application, trading across borders, judicial system, provision of construction and occupancy permits, connection to electricity supply networks, starting a business, and public procurement were explained to the entrepreneurs.
