The next meeting of the members of the Working Group on “Improving the Civil Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan” was held

On February 14, 2024, the next meeting of the members of the Working Group on “Improving the Civil Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan” was held in a hybrid format at the Institute of Law and Human Rights.

During the meeting, the draft Concept Document prepared for Chapter 1 of the Civil Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan was discussed. The draft had been prepared by The Center for Legal Examination and Legislative Initiatives, considering the feedback submitted by interested parties (subjects applying Chapter 1 of the Civil Code or affected by such application) and members of the working group.

Samir Mahmudov, Head of the Working Group and Executive Director of The Center for Legal Examination and Legislative Initiatives, first presented the draft to the working group members participating in the meeting. Subsequently, additional proposals from the members regarding the draft were discussed, and their questions were answered.

In conclusion, it was decided that additional feedback and proposals from the working group members regarding the draft should be submitted in writing by March 1, 2024.
