The third-quarter meeting of the “Digital Government Development” Taskforce operating under the Commission on the Business Environment and International Rankings was held. The meeting discussed the implementation status of the 2025 Action Plan, new strategic directions to be developed for 2026, and preparations for the next reporting period of the United Nations E-Government Development Index (EGDI).
Opening the meeting, Deputy Minister of Digital Development and Transport and Chair of the Taskforce Samir Mammadov highlighted that Azerbaijan advanced nine positions in the 2024 EGDI report, ranking 74th globally, and emphasized the importance of maintaining consistent progress in this direction.
Subsequently, Shahin Aliyev, Deputy Chair of the Taskforce, delivered a presentation on the implementation of the Action Plan. He noted that all measures and sub-measures under the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Population had been completed, including the adoption of the Artificial Intelligence Strategy and the Digital Government Concept. Shahin Aliyev also informed participants that all technical requirements for the e-Participation (e-iştirak) platform had been fulfilled, the Open Data platform had been updated in accordance with EGDI standards, and all indicators on the mygov platform had been achieved.
During the meeting, discussions were held on the priorities for preparing the EGDI 2026 report, strengthening data-driven governance, expanding citizen participation tools, and implementing measures to ensure the sustainable development of digital government in Azerbaijan.
