Next meeting of the “Business Insolvency” Working Group held

On 2 February 2026, the next expanded meeting of the “Business Insolvency” Working Group, led by the Ministry of Justice under the Commission on Business Environment and International Rankings, was held.

The meeting was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Economy, the Central Bank, delegates of leading law and consulting firms, other members of the Working Group, as well as international experts.

Opening the meeting, the head of the Working Group, Deputy Minister of Ministry of Justice of Azerbaijan, Abiddin Huseynov, introduced the international insolvency experts engaged from Germany - Prof. Dr. Stephan Madaus and Dr. Abbas Abbasov to the meeting participants.

International experts provided information on advanced international approaches in restructuring and insolvency, their application possibilities, existing issues in this field and other issues.

Additionally, the recommendations of the international experts on the draft law on “Restructuring and Insolvency”, prepared by thematic group, were listened to.

At the same time, international experts answered the questions of interest from the meeting participants related to this field, during the meeting.
